1st injection today - not wet or dry MD

I have been told that I have Macular Edema - secondary to a Macular vein occlusion. Had an injection today - but will not be having another for 9 weeks as we are going to Europe for 7 weeks. Opthamologist wasn't too happy but didn't jump up and down about breaking the "usual" protocol of monthly injections for 3 months. I am thinking that this is all an outcome of my long going high cholesterol problem - it seems that cholesterol cause more problems than that of the heart!!! Off to my local GP on Saturday to see about a bigger statin pill!!!!

I have found that both opthamologists I have seen ( who work together in the same office, one being the "expert" on eye injections) to be very uncommunicative -- so I do not know what drug was injected nor do I know about eye pressures.

have a look at blood pressure also. It is best to have the injections monthly at first but you need to allow some tome after each injection before travel. I'm glad you got the first one under way. If you find you have problems while away perhaps you can cut short the trip?
