I am eating my spinach etc and taking Lutein, Vit A, Vit E , copper, zinc etc. I wasn't too sure about the drops but have read that having cataracts done can be a problem with the AMD? Normally cataracts are operated on successfully but doesn't sound so straightforward if you have AMD.
The study confirms that there is no convincing evidence that they are effective - I have printed a copy off and will see what my optician thinks. Thank you for the info.
If you are under a retinal specialist, it would be worth discussing your concerns with them. If not, you could always request a referral to one via your GP to discuss this and your cataracts in general. It is important that it is a retinal specialist who e.g. makes the decision on whether it is safe to remove your cataracts.
