Just had my first Lucentis injection. Have been told to stop playing my cornet/trumpet because of pressure. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and will it be permanent or just a temporary blip?

Dear Harrymole,
It would be worth ringing the ophthalmologist's secretary and obtaining clarification from them.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further help. The Macular Society helpline is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday on 0300 3030 111.
Kind regards,
Hi Harrymole,
I haven't had the problem you describe personally because my instrument is the piano, but I did meet a wonderful gentleman at my local Low Vision Centre who had had to give up playing the trumpet professionally for similar reasons so I don't think you are alone. He changed instruments and is now a pretty nifty keyboard player. I heard a recording he had made of his playing and he was fantastic. Not ideal if your first love is the cornet but there are ways to keep music in your life with a bit of ingenuity. He also told me that the RNIB offer a transcription service from normal to large print which I intend to look into. Good luck.
Hi kalahuchi,
Thank you very much for your reply, so kind of you to take the time. I do play cornet in a brass band so another instrument wouldn't be suitable unless I moved over to percusion. Regards,
