Want to go to New Zealand next year but am worried about warfarin. I also have APS/Hughes and am worried about the flight. Any advice?
The only advice i can give you is to wear flight socks, wiggle your toes every so often and get up and go walkabout from time to time.
I should add my husband was taking warfarin after an emergency operation threw up a blood clot. It cost us quite a bit to get travel insurance. They were happy to insure me but not my husband. And that was for a short haul flight.
Take what Melinda says my Husband is on Warfain and we have been to Ouz several time

As my immediate family live in Australia I've travelled long haul on a regular basis all my adult life. Wear good quality flight socks (that don't cut off circulation at the knee), perform continual exercises while seated to stimulate circulation in your legs and stay as mobile as possible on the plane (which is not that easy in prolonged turbulence). If you can secure bulk-head seats all the better - use the extra legroom to raise your feet and legs by putting one of your carry-on bags on the floor and keep your feet up. A stop-over half way or as many times as you have the opportunity is expensive but money well spent. BTW, the best "compression socks" I've found are actually tubular elasticated bandages. I saved a pair I was given while in hospital for an op. They don't have the very tight elasticated cuffs at the top that many flight socks do. Not sure but you might be able to buy lengths of these bandages from Boots. If not, enquire of your doctor's surgery. Hope that helps 
Incidently, a doctor told my husband because he was on warfarin, he would be the least likely person on the plane to get dvt.
I will not do long haul now without wearing a sterile mask once seated as every time I have been to Aus and NZ to see my daughter I have ended up in bed for a week or two with an infection I had picked up on the flight. We try and book with someone who has a free stop-over. Emerates are good for this and we stop for a couple of days to get my body and Meds. catch up. Good luck and have a great trip.xx
