What does unspecified SLE mean?

I have SLE as a diagnosis my recent letter from the hospital states diagnosis as SLE unspecified not sure what the unspecified bit means never had that after SLE before. Hoping someone can explain this to me.

"unspecified" (NOS not otherwise specified) are used only when neither the diagnostic statement nor a thorough review of the medical record provides adequate information to permit assignment of a more specific code

In some ways this might be good for you as no presumptions have yet been made. You have not been boxed into a label. SLE = classic differential diagnosis. Unpredictable. Mimics other disorders. Can and likely will effect any and or all organs. Unique to each patient. Labeling SLE can be problematic as SLE is highly variable.

Best to treat symptomatically thereby not ignoring ALL possible variations.
