Update on covid-19 treatments & eligibility

We've updated our article on the COVID-19 treatments and their eligibility, which you can read here: lupusuk.org.uk/covid-19-tre...

Most of the updates to the eligibility are not lupus-specific (for example they have added some respiratory conditions), but they have added some co-morbidities like diabetes to the "Patients with Immune-Mediated Inflammatory Disorders (IMID)" section, and no longer require a minimum dose of a few of the medications, which may account for why some people have been receiving eligibility letters who haven't before.

I've linked the government's full report on eligibility in the article, so you can check the other conditions or medications which qualify if you wish.

We've also updated our article on the NICE appraisal process for which treatments have been recommended for the NHS to use, which is available here: lupusuk.org.uk/nice-covid19...

If you have any questions about the above, please feel free to leave a comment or get in touch with me and I'll do my best to help.

Take care,

Debbie

thanks for the info Debbie, it’s much appreciated. I’ve found the whole thing very confusing, whether I should or shouldn’t have spring or autumn vaccine. I’ve decided to wait for autumn and if it’s needed sooner the GP can let me know. 🙂

It is very confusing, so you're not the only one!

In terms of the vaccines, only a fairly small group are being offered the spring booster, and then a larger group will be offered the autumn one. We have some information in this article on vaccines: lupusuk.org.uk/covid19-vacc...
