Can Anyone Help

I have to sleep sat up in bed through pain. I also need my legs elevated a bit to help to stop me sliding down the bed and to stop pain in my legs. As you can see by the photo this is what I do at the moment but I find it is not very good and end up with the pillows moving.

I wonder if anyone has any other ideas of what I can do.

Hi custardpot. It’s difficult isn’t it to get pain relief when trying to sleep? There are different body pillows which help and I’m pretty certain Amazon sells them. I’ve used some of my sofa pillows before because they are a bit more stiff and do not move around so much. The best for me is a reclining chair. Even with that I also use pillows at my legs/feet. Best Regards, Titters

Hi, I also had to sleep upright for a month or so after a lung biopsy. I've tried to work out the link to no avail so if you look up the following details on Amazon you will find what I used. I just put an extra couple of pillows on it and found if both comfortable and practical.

I invested in an electrical bed, expensive but worth every penny, as you can adjust it to how you want it. You can also claim vat with many conditions.

It may sound a bit OTT but an electric bed base with elevating head and foot regions is far and away the best option - it completely stops the sliding down the bed problem. We could not believe the difference when OH was transferred from an ordinary bed with pillows to an electric bed.

Have you tried Triangular Pillows….or similar?

Amazon has a selection.

Thank you for all your replies. I cannot change my bed as it is mine and my husbands. I lost him 9 years ago and it is where he passed away. I have decided to try a wedge pillow. Again thank you

Hi Custardpot ( love the name 🙂I have the same issues and the very best thing I did was to get an adjustable bed. It enables me to sleep in a sitting position with my legs raised. Another Best Buy was a pillow from Scandiborn which is body length so fits around my neck cradles my elbow, Isa great arm rest and if I have to turn over it fits between my knees providing support and greater comfort. It is chiropractor designed primarily for pregnancy. I hope you find something that helps you. I have been through the v cushion, lumbar cushions, wedge cushions even the awful tube type cushion with an extension for up the leg recommended by the physio which was so uncomfortable I could not sleep.

I too have an adjustable bed an I have twin beds which is put together to make it super kingsize. I sleep upright and my husband doesn't adjust his side of the bed. I can elevate my feet when in bed by raising the bottom of the bed.

The lupus has damaged my lungs and I have been using oxygen since 2013 and I just could not sleep lying flat also I get gastric reflux and sleeping upright helps.
