Hi i started Methotrexate in Sept last year and since then have had chest infections one after another. Is this normal? My doc is concerned but not my Rheumy. I was previously on Azathioprine for 3 years and never picked up infections and its getting me down. Any advice is welcome thanks.

I continually get chest infections with the immunosurpressant no on mmf. I got lots with the methotrexate. You do need to make sure you don't end up with a low white blood count. I'm no on long term. Antibiotics . It might be worth reducing your methotrexate a little so you get less of them.

That's strange, I have lots of infections, nasal and UTI , I was told I had a low white cell count so tried to come of my Azathioprine but no success. I didn't knw anyone else who has had nasal infections my nose gets sore and bleeds inside with scabs. What is it? my doctor is not very helpful. My last bloods they said my white count was ok but I am still getting infections.
