Yea sis I am wondering if its still making much difference with your pain after using it for yesr/s ?

Can't just understand this level of pain which really does not subside ?

Also any thing else you want to advise me on from using the patches ?

Quite faustrating , thought I was alone with this pain patch on top of all the other medications hmm

Thanks

Its awful being in this severe pain akumama on top.of lupus. I need it for nerve pain . How about you?. The trouble with morphine after a time we develop a tolerance to a particukar dose. This is when it needs increasing to get same benefit but must only be done under doctor's guidance. Have you talked to your gp about level of pain ?. If it was your pain clinic that prescribed them a chat with them might help too. ?. There may be something else you could try that would be more effective. Hope thats helpful. Keep safe. Xx

Hi Akuamama, I was initially on Butrans patches but had to stop them because of severe skin irritation. Next they tried Tramadol but it caused really awful gut pain. Then I tried Oramorph but it made me vomit . Then I tried Garbapentin but the dose made me feel very spaced out. Now I take morphine sulphate tablets. They suit me and apart from itching I have no adverse side effects. I think it is a very personal thing about finding what works for you. Good luck x

Hi Akuamama1956, yes I suffer from very bad limb pain and my GP is a pain specialist and my local district nurses were also involved. They were trying to get ahead of my pain and one or two of the methods they trialed me on were morphine and fentanyl patches. The morphine patches did not really even out the pain for me, whilst the fentanyl patches were so strong that they scared me and I refused to use them.
