I would contact your doctor and ask your question. Maybe someone else in here can answer?

To me, if you aren’t using immune suppressant meds you would think you’d be better off. Except that your immune system would amp up for a major flare. But! Someone posted and article about how it all works and how your immune response releases a chemical to fight infection that actually ends up attacking your lungs, which is one of the main problems with Covid19. Soooo, I would definitely call my doctor to be sure. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree with Brooksidecourt, I don’t think you would be more likely to catch it than healthy people if you are not on immunosuppressants. We are not on the highest risk list as far as I know.

But whether your immune system would get even more active to fight off the new ‘enemy’ Covid 19, is an interesting question. Or would some of your immune system turn to fighting Covid 19 instead of attacking your own body? Then your autoimmune disease would be less of a problem than usual. Does anyone know the answer?

Would autoimmune disease be more likely than a healthy immune system to release the chemical that attacks your lungs? Seems unlikely but I haven’t read the article (yet).

But you should call your doctor to see if they know.
