Tests
Those tests are familiar to most of us. He is testing for general inflammation in your body, blood chemistries to indicate how kidneys and other organs are working, a test for rheumatoid arthritis, blooding clotting problems, and a specific antibody that is common in lupus and can appear on its own. I do not see an ANA test. This, as others have said, is highly unusual, particularly since he specifically stated he was testing you for lupus. Maybe because your ANA was originally negative, he is sending your blood off to a special lab for a whole range of immunological tests. It is a perfectly reasonable question to ask. Just call tomorrow and ask the receptionist if the ANA was done. I am confident there is an explanation.
I would definitely phone and ask about the Ana and double strand dna. Even some GPs are clueless about the lupus anticoagulant. It is a very misleading name as does not indicate lupus at all but rather points to a different condition. Keep those photos of your facial rash and push for referrals, ideally to rheumatology but dermatology would do in he interim.I know a few people who have ended up being diagnosed via dermatology and then only referred to rheumatology.
As Kayhimm and rolybear say, it's immunology tests that are needed for lupus (I read you had a negative ANA before, but this can change), and they are listed in the sole UK official guidance (Table 6):
academic.oup.com/rheumatolo...
Table 5 has the SLE criteria: rash and mouth ulcers are two. 4 from 11 are needed.
GP had mentioned vasculitis? - that's an immunology test too, the ANCA, but only positive results count ie if it's negative, it doesn't rule out vasculitis.
Worth seeing your GP before the holidays, Tables 5 and 6 in hand, to press for a rheumatology referral and check immunology is being tested? xxx
