Appointment with a Rheumatologist.

If anyone has been reading my posts you will know I have been having a tough time. The last post was about peripheral neuropathy.

My Dr referred me to the hospital in Bath as I told you my local hospital won't accept the diagnosis I was given in 2007.

Got the letter through to make an appointment and there is a 15 week waiting list to get an appointment.

My Mum and I discussed it and I am going to see Dr Ellie Korenowych privately in Bath.

Do any of you have experiences like this? Wondering after my initial consultation privately on the 4th October will I be able to be seen on NHS?

Has been a long time coming this appointment and am quite stressed out about it. Have had the summer from hell..

Hi Lucy......Yes, after you have seen Dr Korenowych Privately, she can write to your GP either asking for you to be referred back to her on the NHS , or even to another NHS consultant who may be more suitable as he/she may be specialising in whatever Dr K diagnoses.

Hope you get some answers & some help soon.

I initially saw the rheumatologist privately she decided quite quickly I needed biologic treatment which I could only receive on nhs so she put me on her nhs list and I saw her again quite quickly. Best wishes, i hope you have a similar experience xx

I also saw her privately, she was great and was happy to switch me back to nhs and was diagnosed straight away rather than waiting 18 weeks .
