you should consult with your doctor about this. If your symptoms are relieved, he or she may give another treatment to improve your health. Good diet, healthy lifestyle and supplements are good supports to deal with lupus. You should focus on them
Hey there
Talk to your doctor or rheumatologist or whomever is in charge of your medicine. Prednisolone should not be stopped suddenly ever and dropped slowly in a taper, amount depending on how your symptoms are doing.
You should only stop it if your doctor says it is OK to and you MUST taper the dose down slowly. How you do that depends what dose you are on at present as well. But you must taper it slowly once you are below 10mg because otherwise you could become quite ill. Your body has to start to make its own corticosteroid called cortisol - and it sometimes takes a bit of time. Don't try to rush it.
I initially started on 20mg then weaned down to 17.5 then 15 then 10. Now I am on 5mg. Please do not just stop. I was warned not to stop taking. See your specialist.
