I can't tolerate prednisone tabs so have been on 120ml Depo-Medrone injections for c. 12 years. Brilliant at first. Might even feel like overkill initially but, unfortunately, the effectiveness does wear off over time. Now, I'm lucky to get 3 or 4 weeks' relief (if any at all) before a slow decline back to square one. For various reasons of sensitivity or other oral NSAIDs simply not working, Depo-Medrone is all I have now apart from paracetamol and it's entirely inadequate even though my Consultant has allowed me 5 injections p.a. rather than the usual 4. If you can't tolerate anything else it's a good option though and definitely a better option than chemo! Hope that helps.

Thanks Tigerliliy, I'm on hydroxychloroquin 400 , Azathiaprine 200 plus nsaid's. Joints and vascular issues have been difficult to get under control, so this is the next step! I hope it works.

A shame you've become so limited with your options. I think we'd all agree what you can tolerate is probably nowhere near enough to manage your symptoms.

I have had many Depomedrone injections over the last 7/8 years to cover when yet another Dmard failed.I am one of the lucky ones who can get up to 12 weeks of pain relief depending on the strength of of the dose....but I have read on here some people get no relief at all!

I really do hope it is successful for you.
