How long have people been on depomedrol?

I've had three shots since last July. Is it a long term form of treatment for those with persistent joint pains?

Yes it is. I've been having injections for the last 10 years. 3 since July sounds like a lot but I guess it depends on how much they gave you each time. The maximum amount one can have annually is 480mls, usually divided into 4 shots of 120mls each. Do watch your bone density though, have regular scans and take something like AD-Cal to ward off osteopenia/osteoporosis!

ok,I was told it for flare up in my case they stopped due to much weight gain.but then thats me im sensitive like that..they gave me azathioprine instead which once kicked in is supposed reduce my need for steriod injections.

Yes, you have to be careful of too many steroids as these can lead to AVN and this can lead to limb replacements.

yes,when i had them only allowed 3 a year and not long term.

plus i have calcuim vitamin d supplement.thankfully my bones fine
