many thanks for your comments. I have had tinnitus and painful cartilage in my ear, also itching of the outer ear. Dr. thinks it's chondritis, am awaiting some blood tests.

I went partly deaf in one ear for a short while, and they quickly put me on steroids...ENT doctor checked me for inflammation ,my crp I think it was called...and it was high...he let the gp know, but she seemed not bothered...I did get an MRI and they saw nothing ,and that inflammation test results were not passed on....It was an orthopedic surgeon passed me on to rhumey doc, and he thought the hearing loss was the beginning of lupus, or an indicator...maybe virus..

UPDATE:Its been since 2012 i had that hearing thing happen...and....it happened the other day again, but not as bad...I dont want to be on steroids, so i tried diclofenac every 8 hours, and within a whole day things went back normal...Maybe i just got lucky...When it does like a vibrating thing (ripple), its awful...and feels full...and doesnt hear as well..scary! AND no i dont use diclofenac all the time, as i know it can cause ringing in ears if you do...I just use my thyroid pills and one hydroxy...
