The spoon theory is the best thing I have ever found that describes what living with lupus is like.

Very good...I still have people in my family that don't think it's a real disease, it's just getting older is what I get. I would like to type this up and hand it to people. I am low end lupus, and don't get as nauseous and such, but I am tired and have a very hard time cooking every day. I don't have the energy. I don't work and I am tired by 7pm. I finally had to tell my mother in law because she wants to do Easter, and she is not well either, diabetes and recovering bladder cancer victim. I told her that I would help, but I get very tired and can't commit to do a lot. Thank you for this. I feel like i have to limit my , and things I can do in a day all the time.

Hi there is an extremely well known and well written article called "The Spoons Theory" if you Google it you can then print it, I have given copies of this to people to help them to understand what it is like to be ill with lupus but not look it. It explains in a very clearly written way how a person describes living day to day having to think ahead to what needs doing so that she does not waste any energy as she may need it later. I know the title is a little ominous but if you choose to read it you will soon see why it is called that. I held a fund raising day and had copies of it there and they disappeared very quickly I even had to get more. People I have given this article to have found it a very enlightening piece of writing and have almost had a light turned on to the way I live my life.

I hope you find it and can print it out and give it to people who you want to explain things to
