Dear Cynthia,

This is a very complex question to answer. Are they saying you will be medically retired as unfit to work? This would require a doctor's assessment of you. What does your GP/Consultant say about working?

May I suggest you raise the question at the LuPUS Message Board where there is someone who specialises in Patient Advocacy. Registration is free: lupus-support.org/LuPUSMB

When you complete the registration form, it will ask for our date of birth (to ensure you are not a minor). Please use the following: nn-nn-nnnn where n=number. Therefore if you were born on 4th April 1984, you would write: 04-04-1984.

Let me know if you have any problems by emailing me: roz [at] [lupus-support] [dot] [org] [dot] [uk]

Be well!

Ros

Hello Ros, we had the meeting but it was adjourned until mid-September as my union Rep. did not have his paperwork. Management has requested my consultant details as they want to write to them for update on my condition before the 'final' decision is made. They are not looking for medical retirement, it seem like they want to remove me from my job!

Dear Cynthia1,

So there is another delay which mus be stressful for you. May I suggest you speak with your Consultant so that between you, a letter can be sent that is satisfactory for you. Is there a possibility of getting legal advice perhaps via your union or elsewhere?

As you are now a Member of the LuPUS MB (welcome!) please post a question - you do not have to give personal details - as there may be people who have more experience than I in this matter. In any event, I think talking in itself may be helpful.

Please do let me know how things go either here, on the LuPUS MB where you can use the Private message system.

With good wishes,

Ros
