Hi,

re- Stage3

Please, does anyone have any tips for very dry mouth when waking during early hours, literally lips sticking to teeth! Not happening during normal waking hours. Nurse suggested Gel Clair though suggested that this and other remedies would only last a very short time.

Thank youre- Stage3

Hi Adaughter. I've been given various things by the NHS to help dry mouth, but the very best thing for me is something called XyliMelts. It is a tablet that sticks to your gums and works through the night. You can get it without prescription and the hospice OK'd it for me. It is available on Amazon and various other online pharmacies.

Thank you Ginkgo, I’m seeing dad today ; I bought a mouth gel yesterday so going to see if that worked but your suggestion sounds good as works through the night. Kind regards

I used Biotene toothpaste and mouth rinse for moisture. It helped. Also, keep a water bottle by your nightstand.

Thank you Leniko, dad said the mouth gel he tried last night did the trick but very useful to have other options you have all posted.

Kind regards
