My 65 year old wife has NSCLC that has been in remission for 6 months.
Over the past 3 weeks she has become forgetful and has no concept of time or dress sense.
She can no longer go to the shops by herself as she will most certainly get lost.
I have told her oncology nurse who will take it up with the oncologist.
Has anyone experienced these symptoms with metastases to the brain or is it Dementia?
Request a brain MRI right away. I have had many tiny lesions in my brain and have had radiation 3 times to the areas. I had no symptoms. Perhaps an appointment with a Neurologist is needed as well. Best wishes.
MRI for sure! I have Stage IV NSCLC and brain mets (3) - radiation zapped them! Wishing you all the best x
A bit too quick onset and development for dementia. As others said ask oncologist for a MRI as most likely to be linked to cancer. Best wishes
Hi, I’m sorry to hear this but my partner has the same and it started off being slight confusion and problems speaking, this was due to his brain mets getting bigger, please insist she has a he’d scan to see what’s going on My lovely man is now unable to talk and is on palliative care now as the tumour had grown so much

I am very sorry to hear that your wife is becoming forgetful and not quite herself and as you have said there is a possibility that this could be due to brain metastasis, however I think it is important to get her checked over by her Gp to rule out any other causes. During the hot weather people with underlying health conditions can very quickly become dehydrated or develop heat exhaustion, also infections such a urinary tract infection can cause acute confusion, these are issues that a Gp can easily diagnose and treat.
