Dear 1973Ren

Welcome to the forum and so sorry to hear you have lung cancer and myeloma. This must be very difficult and challenging for you, and your loved ones.

I see you are in South Africa and am not sure how your health care system works there, you could ask your local practitioner how to go about getting a second opinion.

Lung cancer treatment will depend on the type and staging, treatment options range from surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapies and immunotherapy. For targeted therapies and immunotherapy, this is dependent on the cell mutations/proteins that are present from the biopsy. However, as you have myeloma, the oncology team will be looking to see what treatment options together will provide the best outcome for you.

You are welcome to email ask the nurse at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org if you would like to discuss anything. Wishing you the very best.
