Hello Wieghtwatchers1,
The hardest part is always waiting for results to come back, there can be numerous reasons as to why there are changes on a chest x-ray and waiting for further test results to confirm the reason for these changes will be hard but is the only way to get a definitive answer.
If there is anything you would like to discuss you can either email us at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our free phone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200

Sad news but good luck 🤞 its the waiting that's hell. 9 years us good to be free of cancer x
My dad had bowel cancer in his 50s (twice) and then another bowel cancer 5 years ago but was told this was a new primary given the time lag (over 25 years) between the two. I've known patients where lung cancer has returned after some years but to a different place - spine, adrenals for example - always worth asking the medics treating you whether they're considering it as a primary return, new primary or secondary (i.e. mets). good luck.
Quite possibly it's a new cancer. So many new therapies have been approved in the last 9 years. If it's cancer it may have a drug just designed for the mutant hat caused it to grow. It's possible to fight cancer with a pill.
Hiya. It’s metastasis ( lung cancer)now have to wait on ENT transferring us to lungs. However since diagnosis on Tuesday mum has been put on morphine then today was admitted with a lung infection 80% oxygen levels. Sleeping 24/7 not eating or drinking. Actually euphoric there is an infection than can be treated and fingers crossed she’s back on her feet by the weekend. How can she be a survivor for 9 years totally cured then go like this in weeks after finding a neck lump 😔
