Lung cancer
Hi Dewbery, my answer to your question is, who knows! It certianly wont help if you are a lung cancer patient. If you are a patient and someone is smoking in your home, then their relationship needs to be brought in to question.
Then it might be better if I move out
Hi Dewberry. I was diagnosed many years ago before the smoking issue was brought into question. I had bitter falling outs with some members of my family, I was told I was being arrogant. I had to get them one at a time and explain to them were I stood. most carried on but were more sympathetic toward me. Surely these days there is no excuse, everyone must be aware of the dangers now. Good luck
Dear Dewbery,
I worked as a smoking cessation nurse specialist for several years before coming to work for the Roy Castle foundation.
Second hand smoking increases the risk for heart and lung disease by around 25% as exacerbates existing conditions such as asthma and other lung diseases. There is plenty of evidence to support this: cancerresearchuk.org/cancer...
Some types of lung cancer are more likely to be caused by smoking and this can often be identified from a biopsy of the tumour.
I hope this is helpful,
Beth, on behalf of Information and support.
Yes I had a biopsy four years ago that sthen they found out I had cancer
