A lot depends on how fit you were/are now after your surgery. Flying is possible after 3 months but insurance can be hard to get early on. Also depends on the length of flight - short haul probably best in the short term as you will now have to wear a mask all the time at the airport and flight and although respiratory conditions are exempt in the UK, not all authorities accept this. Travelling anywhere can be tiring and you need to move about and break the journey if a long car/coach/train ride - if you haven't kept active and spend long periods sitting down especially in one position, the risk is of DVT. Roy Castle put together a useful set of information for anyone travelling with lung cancer or following LC treatment that may help.... roycastle.org/about-lung-ca... and their information about lung surgery also suggests milestones about general living and travelling. however all information was written before covid 19 so that's an additional risk. I'd suggest being sensible - socially distancing, wearing a face covering if you have to (for limited periods) getting outside in the fresh air and keeping active as much as you can whether at home or away. Personally although I usually travel extensively I'm not planning on going anywhere soon - as people in the UK so far are not behaving sensibly in my opinion since measures around pubs reopening up at the weekend... and don't want to risk all the effort to date in staying at home.... it's your health at the end of the day.... take care
Welcome to our forum, JanetteR57 has given a great answer and as you have said after shielding for so long you want to be cautious. At the moment it still seems a fluid situation with rules and lock downs still changing looking at the situation in Leicester where they have re instated stricter rules due to a spike. We keep information updated on Covid-19, which as you know changes, all this can be found on this link:
