Some people have lung cancer which is called non small cell lung cancer which has a mutation called ALK . It is a meeting for people affected by this type of lung cancer. Hope this helps

Ah right I have NSCLC squamous and adenocarcinoma bug I didn’t know about ALK

NSCLC adenocarcinoma can tested for mutations. One of the mutations that they can test for is ALK, also EGFR and ROS1 plus others. I was found to have the ALK mutation and the people who belong to this group also have ALK. I wish you all the best with your treatment. You might have been tested for mutations in the past without knowing which ones you were tested for

Yes probably they don’t tell you much unless you ask.

I’ve had treatment last one in April I was on cistplatin and vinoralbine plus 6weeks radio while on treatment. Do far so good 9 months ok x

It might be worth asking just to check that you have been assessed re mutations. As targeted drugs are available. Then at least you know what you have been tested for. Just a thought. I was diagnosed 6 years ago and had standard upfront chemotherapy and am now on targeted treatment

That’s great 6 years amazing. Medicine has come a long way since My twin brother passed with bowel cancer.Three years later I got struck with inoperable lung cancer. Xx

I am an ex smoker not smoked for 22 years 👍

I am a non smoker too. Mine like you is inoperable. I know now you just need lungs to get lung cancer. I wish you all the best with your treatment. I keep asking lots of questions so that I know what’s going on x
