Have you thought of posting on Inspire the American website which has users worldwide? You may get different responses from there. Wishing you all the best xx

Have you asked your medical team whether there are any clinical trials for which you would be eligible?

Thank you. I’ll ask when I see them.

Hi ParchWoody

I see fenchurch has given you a link regarding clinical trials. Whether you are a candidate for a clinical trial will depend on many things.

As jeanetteR57 said you need to speak to the oncologist managing your care about relevant clinical trials as there are certain criteria you have to meet for example factors like your age, general health, stage or severity of disease and treatment history. They will discuss the pros and cons with you before enrolling on a trial.

With best wishes,

All the team at the Roy Castle Helpline

Hi ParchWoody, I know quite a few people who are currently getting a triplet: carboplatin, Alimta (or Avastin) and Keytruda. They are not having terrible side effects from the chemotherapy like they did when they got full dose. From what I understand, you get the carbo for 4 treatments and then just the Avastin/Alimta and Keytruda for more treatments. I realize it is chemo, but they say it is not nearly as bad as it was before.

I was in a clinical trial for 4 years for what ended up being Opdivo. I LOVED being in a trial. If you can find one, go for it!
