Hi Debbie sorry to hear of your news. Why are you stage 4? And what sort do you have? You will feel much better about things once you've started treatment. The days before hand are the worst.

Best wishes to you debbe. As Millisa says, you'll feel better once you start treatment, I found the waiting around the worst part.

Dear Debbie

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis. It must have been quite a shock for you processing it all. The waiting seems to be the worse for lots of people as Millisa and SAH1 have experienced.

We have lots of useful information on our website roycastle.org where you can request booklets to be posted out to you if you prefer. All the information is written specifically for lung cancer (including chemotherapy)

If you have not been allocated a lung cancer specialist nurse, you can request one from either the GP or the Specialist. They provide invaluable support, advice and information.

Cancer Research UK is a great source for information and current clinical trials, their website is cancerresearchuk.org

Macmillan Nurses helpline number is 0808 808 00 00

If you wish to discuss anything you can call us on our free nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200

Wishing you all the best with your chemotherapy

Hi, I know how you feel, I'm 55 & same happened to me but mine is stage 3 3 nodes affected. Started my 4th round of chemo this week, my last scan showed a 20% reduction so there is hope & light at the end of the tunnel

Keep your chin up & take good care of yourself

Once you get your regime sorted you'll feel better

Wishing you all the best
