Hi I had mine cut really short as the same thing happened to me. Had just had it done on my profile picture. Since then I have been on Tarceva so its curly, coarse and very brittle. I use coconut oil and loads of conditioner. Best wishes. Julie

I use conditioner and also leave it to dry naturally as I found that my scalp was itchy. Not using the hair dryer has really helped but takes more time. Best wishes x

Hello EvaSamantha

Good tips below from Julie and Bow. This is not at all trivial, hair is such a visible sign of our wellbeing and so many of us feel better when our hair is good.

There are a few good sources of advice on hair loss. The hairdressing industry have set up a charitable service:

mynewhair.org/Home.aspx

It is good that you have managed to retain hair. There is a service available with advice on scalp and hair care; demonstration of scarf tying and alternatives to wigs. This is available from Breast Cancer Care but open to all people who have chemotherapy related hair loss. You can find out if there is a service near you through this link

best wishes

Hi my hair too went ginger instead of brown and very fine. I used a baby shampoo until it grew and the opposite got thicker and lustrous if you can believe it. I got mine cut too and it grew back in better condition I've ever had. Taking the first step made me a lot better and although I have always been shoulder length hair it now looks great. The new hair that came through got lovely and thicker and I had never had anything like that since I had been born.

Best wishes

Before chemo I had my hair styled and cut short. Now just use baby shampoo and its okay but I know other peoples hair can react differently. And as I cannot see my hair once it is brushed I don't let it bother me. After year of fine straight hair. Like JuJuJu I now have a mass of unruly curls after being on traceva which I am rather proud.
