When I have an opportunity to travel that conflicts with my ability to refill medications in a timely manner, including my pain patches, I ask my Part D insurance carrier for a vacation override or exception. Sometimes my doctor has to appeal their decision not cover it. Only once did I have to pay by out of pocket in 13 years.
