I expect Denzie will have some fabulous advice for you. I would call the oncologist about the fever. Dare I hope that it is your body’s immune response to the new lesion and it is trying to kick in?! And perhaps get a second opinion about the radiation being in a location that is too difficult/dangerous to radiate. Stereotactic radiation is so very targeted....I would want a clear explanation about what is dangerous. The lesion I had was very near critical cardiac anatomy, but my radiation oncologist dutifully explained the concern and indicated his confidence in not damaging anything except the lesion. However, I know how much energy it takes to get a second opinion, so there is a lot to be said for knowing and trusting your doctor and going with what he/she advises without always asking for a backup opinion.

Doctor told me today chemo 4 rounds along with keytruda or I can do a clinical trial but doesn’t do well with my markers so I’ll do chemo to shrink this tumor

So sorry I missed this. Jennifer gave good advice. So glad to read you’re doing the chemo. Which drugs are they using?

I have bronchitis but I’m getting over it started the folic acid today 7 days then B shot soon then I do four rounds of cisplatain and Altima and keytruda for a 3.4 cm against chest wall and the keytruda scares me it might not work being I’m KRAS

There are no guarantees with any cancer treatment. It has worked for other KRAS patients and not for others. No way to know.

Is it carboplatin or cisplatin. You’ve indicated both. If it’s cisplatin get your ears tested as soon as possible and again after treatment. If there’s hearing loss then it can be attributed to the cisplatin and insurance should pay for hearing aids.

Use plastic forks and spoons to help get rid of the metallic taste that both carboplatin and cisplatin cause. Lemon drops between meals helps with any residual tastes.

Stock up on stool softeners and use one daily. Also have anti diarrhea and a laxative on hand. You may experience one or both.

Keep snacks on hand. Your favorite foods may not taste good for a while. Eat 5 or six small meals rather than 3 big ones.

You’ll do great.

Your words are very kind. Thank you.

I’m sorry I’m not familiar with the chemo named Olympus. With all the newly approved treatments it’s hard to keep up all of them. I hope someone who has used it checks in.

Not for nothing! You had a positive result. Build on that. You’ve learned that not every ache, pain or fever is the cancer. Remember that and embrace it. It will make living with cancer easier.
