So since 26th March we finally have an appointment with either mums consultant or a member of the thoracic team. Really hoping after all of this time we get a diagnosis and if our worst fears are realised they’ve at least thought of a treatment plan which can be started straight away. Just hope my nerves hold out until then ........
Finally a consultants appointment - Lung Cancer Support
Finally a consultants appointment
I also had doctors throwing darts hoping to hit the right diagnosis. It is a bad place to be only wanting to identify the enemy so it can be handled. If still no answers, keep working on it. Cancer is not a wanted diagnosis, but knowing what it is, what stage, etc...takes much stress away. Adds anxiety, but at tleast you’d know why! Let’s us know!
Waiting is the worst part. As the patient, cancer made me want it out immediately. Yet, there are tests to be done and treatment plans to be decided upon. Not everyone gets the same treatment. It is figuring out what is best for you. And yes, it played upon my nerves big time. Being the caregiver is also very frustrating. Your hands are tied as to how much you can do right now (been caregiver for my mom and my husband during their struggles with cancer). I guess I can say cancer taught me patience whether I wanted that lesson or not.
