Acid reflux causes bronchitis attacks

Acid reflux activates my bronchitis along with mucus problems. I wish I could find a way to expel the mucus and improve my breathing.

Thank you for sharing what you are going through. I take mucinex tablets.. The attacks last all day. The dr. Just put me on steroids A week late. I was in the hospital and upon release ,I was to get a nebulizer and medication, unfortunately it took over seven days before I received the nebulizer and I lost what ground that I gained in the hospital. Best of luck to you.

Rampart, I hate that this happened to you. Are you still on the steroids? For how long? They make take several days before you notice some benefit.

Staying well hydrated will help soften the mucus so that it can be brought up. Also, consider using a cool mist vaporizer or a humidifier in the areas you spend the most time. This usually helps my coughs when I’ve had pneumonitis.

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for your reply. I will be on steroids for the next ten days.my doctor regrets he did not get the steroids and nebulizer when he said he would. Maybe if I received them when I should have I would not be having such a hard time. Thanks Dennie.

Sending hope that this clears up swiftly. I’ve a love/hate relationship with those steroids. Warn those around you that you are going through some changes due to meds and to not take anger or emotional outbursts personal.

Nice to hear from you. I wish you the best and just like me we must continue to receive relief and control our problems.

Welcome, Rampart, so glad to have you with us. You have gotten great advice from our members. Have you had respiratory therapy or rehab? If not, you may want to ask your doctor about that too - it helps! Denzie is exactly right about the steroids, they can play havoc with your emotions, so be patient with yourself!

Thanks I go to dr this afternoon. Been going to him for years. He now seems to want to refer me to a specialist for every concern.
