My mom had radiosurgery almost two weeks ago and is doing well. A small blip as she had to restart steroids after titrating off but that’s not a surprise. She is to have her first Keytruda infusion on Tuesday and I don’t know what to expect. I have MS and I know all the secrets to success (or at least some) when I have a streeoid infusion. Any words of advice for my mom for Keytruda? I did read (here I think) that probiotics are important so she has that going. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Hello. I have been doing Keytruda since December (I have nsclc stage 4 with mets to bone.) I have read that it does work wonders for a lot of people. The main side effect I have right now after 4 treatments is joint and muscle pain that seems to be getting worse. My doctor said we need to be careful with treating that pain from inflammation because it would cancel out the benefit of Keytruda. I had scans last week to see if it's working for me.
My cousin has advanced melanoma and was on Keytruda for the past year. She had some hip pain, but was mostly just tired from it.
I never knew about the probiotics so thank you for that info. I wish your mom the very best. Again, I've heard wonderful things about the drug and I hope your mom's experience is as well!
