How good to hear from you! Thank you for updating us on how things are going. I am just so very sorry that you are struggling with depression, but please know that it is understandable and not uncommon (sadly)! I cannot recommend a medication, but please trust your doctor to consider what would be best to try in your particular situation. And be sure to let your doctor know if you are not getting relief from a medication, they can always try another one that might work better for you chemically. Also, you should ask if there is someone you can talk with about what you are experiencing - counseling can be a lifeline when you are under so much stress! Don't try to do it alone. I could also send you support group information (just email me at pbezruki@freetobreathe.org) and would love to chat with you on our support line if you wanted: 844.835.4325. Whatever would work best for you. We also offer a peer-to-peer matching service (free), so let me know if you are interested!

Hugs and welcome back!

Welcome. All of us here are dealing with lung cancer either as the patient or as a caregiver. Though our journeys differ, we all share certain things. Waiting has always been very difficult for me and throughout this journey I have experienced hurry up and wait. Waiting for test results, procedures etc. For me, I have learned to live in the moment. To only concentrate on what is happening now. Some days it works better than others. I also have hobbies which keep me occupied. As much as you can, do those things you enjoy while waiting.

I hope all goes well for you and that you have a smooth recovery from your surgery. We support and learn from each other here, so I hope you stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. You will find many knowledgeable and caring people in this community.

Welcome. While waiting for that surgery do get up and walk a bit everyday. It will aide your recovery and recovery time. Do you have a reclining chair? Even better if you have a reclining chair with a lift function to help you out of your seat.

Please keep us updated. One thing I want to reassure you about is that surgery is used with curative intent. If they didn't think they could cure you they wouldn't do it.

Great advice, Denzie. Being as strong as possible when going Into surgery is a definite plus as is a recliner. There are so many things to learn when facing surgery.
