renal cell carcinoma cancer

My husband has been told that he has stage 4 of this cancer. I'm wanting to know is there a cure for it. This is hurting so much seeing him get weak day by day. Dr. says there is No cure, and I find that so hard believe, with the new ways of treating cancers, but not this one.

No cure does not mean no life prolonging treatment. My stage 4 lung cancer is incurable but I have survived and thrived with it for 6.5 years and I'm still going strong.

Has his cancer metasticized to his lungs? If yes, it is still treated as renal cell cancer. I couldn't find a renal/kidney cancer board here on health unlocked. I would advise you to get a second opinion at an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. They will be better able to give him cutting edge treatment. If there is a clinical trial featuring one of the newer precision or targeted treatments they can help you get on it.
