I was diagnosed with stage 4 nsclc and multiple myloma in Feb.2016. I've had chemo with carboplatin and neulasta which was tough on my body. I went to immunotheropy with Optivo and now back on chemo with Abraxzane. The cancer has spread to my hips and the pain is terrible to bear. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Scottcharlop, you are dealing with A LOT with that double diagnosis. I'm sorry that Opdivo didn't work for you, that had to have been a tough day when you got that news.
Has your doctor discussed palliative radiation of your hip bones with you? I'm no expert on bone Mets, but I understand that sometimes that is done and that it can bring relief from pain.

I have been theough similiar chemo as you and had a lot of pain. My Dr. Prescribed 10 mg of oxy every 4 hours or the other option I have is the 12 hour timed release. I am foggy most of the time and I cant drive but I have no pain.
My dr gave me fentanyl patches for my pain. They are replaced every 72 hours. I use norco for break through pain. They made me sleepy at first as they are opiates but I do very well now.
I am so glad you shared your story with us. You will get good advice and support here - so welcome! Don't hesitate to tell your medical team about your pain, if you have a nurse navigator or social worker, you can start there. But either way, please do not suffer silently. If the meds they give you aren't working right, or if they have side effects, make sure your team is aware of that too.
I hope you find relief soon, will be thinking about you, please keep in touch!
i had a mass inbetween my ribs and i wanted to rip my ribs out nothing took the pain away except opdivo
Thanks I will try it.
I have heard the same about radiation to the area relieving pain, I know what's right for some might not be for others, but a question to ask the Dr nonetheless scottcharlop
