Six months check up after sbrt right lower lobe.

I had my blood test done 6-27-2016 got the results back today. It says my wbc is 16.1 thousand normal is 3.8-10.8 so mine is high also my Neutrophils c/ mcl is 12429 cells/ul normal is 1500.0 - 7800.0 so they are high also. I have my ct scan 7-7 2016 then see my oncologist ,on 7-13-2016 .the rest of my blood work is normal or at least close to normal. Does anyone know what the onocaligst looks for on these blood tests ? These are white blood cells that are high , I won't be able to talk to my Dr till after the ct scan.I am afraid it didn't go away and is still growing or has spread. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you Wardt.

I had sbrt radiation in April and will be going for a scan soon. Interested in your white blood cell counts being high and any other info you can share.

I have been doing ok .after the last sbrt treatment in February , I was real tired and short of breath, after about 2months the tiredness went away and my breathing improved, I still feel I have something going on in my chest, when I cough it tastes like a cold. I will get my ct scan today and go from there. About all I can do is pray.ctake care Wardt.

Hi Wardth,

I just recently had 3 sessions of SBRT to my RLL. I will be interested to know the reason for the elevations in your blood work. Have you any other symptoms of an infectious process? Are you short of breath? I did notice some increased shortness of breath since one week of completion and this is my third week. I am still using my short acting inhaler daily for this. Uncomfortable, but still exercising.

Thank you for replying , it seems since this all started in November 2015 .I have more questions than answers. I feel like something is going on in my chest, when I cough it tastes like a cold, I am thinking I may have radiation pneumonitis. It is very common with copd and radiation treatments and can happen 1to 5 months after the treatments. I hope with the ct scan today if that is what it is it will show on the scan. I am praying it something like that rather than cancer related. The cancer center I go to has a patient portal that they post our blood work and other tests on. That's how I found out about my blood work. Otherwise my Dr would have gave me the results and explained what they mean, after the ct scan today i have an appt with my oncologist next wed. To answer your question about shortness of breath after the 3rd session I developed shortness of breath after about a month it improved. My Fev1 is at 33% that is why I was not a canadiate for surgery. Will keep you informed take care. Wardt.
