Today I heard the news that my mum age 68 has lung cancer and also in the lymph nodes in her neck . She has been living in Spain but coming back this week with her results to give to her gp . We are all scared , and overwhelmed . Any advise on how to start this journey right ? What questions do I need to ask ? What do I research ? any help would be wonderful x

I'm sure your mom had a biopsy done, she would see a oncologist who will talk with you as far as type and stage of cancer....also options for treatment..once you both can sit and talk with oncologist and have these questions answered you both will no the plan and may just be able to relax a little and focus on what's next.. many treatments available. Stay strong. M M

I too have lung cancer and it was in my lymnodes , I've had 30 rounds if radiation and 8 chemo.   So far things are looking up my last check with the doctor showed the lymnodes are looking good.  I don't get a catscan until the last week in April and then the doctor will give me the results. This us a scary time but I have to be strong and I have to believe I will beat this .  I've ask things like if this doesn't work what is next. I'm keeping busy , back to work I can't sit all day and think of what might happen. Keep the faith. And think positive

Get her to a major cancer hospital ASAP. I went to MD Anderson within two days of my initial diagnosis. My daughter called them and they wanted me there the next day. I have never had a problem with my insurance with them.
