Lymph vibrator.

Has anyone heard of the vibrator to use for lymphedema? After Googling, there is good feed back that seems promising. Is it over in the UK? Any comments if you know or have used is appreciated. Thank you.

LymphaPress makes Pneumatic Compression Pump for LE treatment. A pump provides sequential compression to the limb to stimulate lymph drainage. It’s a mechanical version of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD). It’s not identical to MLD as this requires the expert hands of a fully qualified MLD therapist. Where a patient has no MLD access, and their lymph nurse or CLT advises they are suitable for Pneumatic Compression Pump then it can be a useful tool in the LE patient’s self treatment tool kit

LymphaPress isn’t the only reputable pump sold in the UK. Haddenham Health makes LymphFlow and Huntleigh makes one too. The compression pump specifically for LE treatment is expensive so should be seen as an investment in your LE self-care. They’re not sold on Amazon.

In the UK, LymphaPress has a 1-2 week trial available which is advisable to see how you get on with it. As far as pumps go, LymphaPress is a very reputable one. It’s sold in the US and UK.

If you’re in the US then the other reputable pump there is Flexitouch & Flexitouch Plus made by Tactile Medical.

Actually the vibration I was asking about is a vibration plate and there are numerous one out there ranging in price from $4,000 down to about $70. There is good feed back on the results of this vibration if you Google. As for the MLD here in the states, or where I live anyway, it's next to impossible to get a licensed MLD, and you pay dearly for their time and they are few and far between. So the Pneumatic Compression Pump is what was recommendations are. And the States are overwhelmed with them. I have 2 sets, Biotab, which I love, and Flexitouch, by Tactile, which has a good reputation but I do not care for and don't use. Biotab is so easy and quick to get on and off, while Flexitouch is so so time consuming, difficult and not for anyone who has any difficulty in moving around. You have to Velcro yourself each time you use it (which is 2 times a day for me) and just so time consuming. I'm sure it good for some people but not for me. Then I seen the Lympha Press and it looks very nice. A representative is supposed to be getting in touch with me to give me a session on how it works. My insurance will cover 1 time every 5 yrs. So I'm hoping. Yes Amazon does sell a lot but I won't waste my money on.them.

I just got my Lympha Press after a year of going back-and-forth fighting with my insurance company. They had only a contract with tactile medical (flexitouch) but it was the most terrible device. I had two of them, and both of them were impossible to use, and really frustrating and took essentially two people to get on even though I am very flexible. It’s just ridiculous with the Velcro. Not only that, but the air hoses continually popped out of the machine.

Not only that, I’m pretty sure it gave me abdominal lymphedema. Because I didn’t have it before I started to use it.

Anyhow, I won my fight with my insurance to get the Lympha Press and I really like it. I can use my cell phone to turn it on or off or reset it, I can pause it to go to the bathroom, and overall, it’s just a heck of a lot easier.

Hello, I saw your older post about vibration machine for lymphedema. I just ordered one from LifePro. They have several models, from basic to all the bells and whistles. I have primary LE in my right leg, but my entire lymphatic system is atypical, according to the ICG test administered by Dr. Chen at Cleveland Clinic. I am having a repeat ICG test to assess my lymph flow after my SAPL surgery 4 months ago. Interestingly, Cleveland Clinic now uses a vibration plate to help move the dye injected into the lymph vessels to track it. I've seen alot of people with lymphedema use the vibration plates as well as rebounders, as part of their self care.
