Do you have lymphoedema?

Is this procedure the final resort to control incontinence? I know that some women have had problems, but others have been OK. There may be other groups on Unlocked related to the subject.

Hi Lynora, yes I do have lymphoedema too. have I come onto the wrong site then. I know I put up a blog about my experience with Oxford and the LVA operation.

Sorry - must have missed it!

Have you spoken to anyone who has had this procedure? I have a friend in England who had it done in 2008. Sadly, she has been left with a lot of pain - but she had met women prior to her surgery, who said they were fine and much improved.

Where is your lymphoedema? If it’s lower limb, could the procedure exacerbate it?

I’ve had it done and it was a great success . After the op I found it hard to lie on my side because my pubic bone hurt but that eases in time. I’m sure I could even go on a trampoline and jump around it I tried it !! You will be fine , just look at the outcome it’s fantastic x x good luck 12345-

Bless you thank you for that, its always good to hear positive, I'm quite active and wondering how long I need to stay in active, I'm hoping not more than a couple of weeks. it has got to the point where I need something done, so don't have much choice or stay like I am which is too nice. my problem is I think I may have urge incontinence too along with stress, I'm seeing the consultant again later today for about the 4th time as I keep getting cold feet, but ill check with him, I'm sure he wont do it if he thinks I'm not suitable depending on what I have, ive been checked twice with the euro-dynamics think its called that, and the first one suggested urge and the second suggested stress, so do think I have both, I didn't think they could fix urge. hey ho booked in for a week tomorrow . thank you though and I'm glad yours was a success.

The test you had is called 'Uro-Dynamics' Julie - for Urology - anything to do with our urine. I had the test too, and it's a wonderful diagnostic tool. Hope you get some help.
