Footwear
Hi, no I didn't know they made flip flops. I have an old pair which fit me still but looking to replace them. Let us know if you get some, I have tremendous difficulty with footwear, especially in this heat. I bought 2 pairs of sandals last year from Cosyfeet which are OK but have to admit that I go about barefoot at home in the heat
I only wear flip flops all year round even in the snow, just wondered if anyone had the croc ones to see what they were like as I can't wear just any, I have worn board angel for years and fancy a change.
Yes! I love them. I have found them very comfy, although I only wear them on holiday for foot protection around the pool and on the beach, so can't say whether they would be comfortable to walk any distance in. I've had mine a few years and they've worn well so I think they were good value.
I don't wear flip flops, they provide no support to my swollen foot and this can cause additional swelling
I agree they are not good for swollen feet but they are very comfortable.
I have croc flip flops and have been pleased with them.
The footbed has some shape to it so I find crocs better than havianas or ones like that.
They've also lasted me a few years although I don't wear mine apart from hot weather in our short British summer!!
Hi daniv79, are they small fitting I take a size 5 and can you get them on with ya compressions x
I live in my crocs I have the classic ones, slip ons like flip flops but no toe post, slip on like pumps, Mary janes some come up bigger which is great as I can get them over my compression bandages. If you buy from the crocs UK website you get 90 days return policy and if you register you get 20% off your first order so do that first. They also have a great sale on at the moment.
Hi loramay, if I take a size 5 should I get a 6 in crocs do you think or not.
Definitely if you wear compression bandages then you may need to get a size 7. If you are on the crocs website on each individual style they will tell you what kind of fit they are

Getting footwear to fit is a real problem. I went to a specialist shoe shop and tried some shoes on about 4 in the afternoon so my feet were well swollen. So also thought that they would fit ok as I was buying them for my feet in their swollen state. The next day however, my feet must have been more swollen and they would come nowhere near me. I am now fed-up with buying expensive specialist shoes at £69 plus each time for them to be of use only on a few days each year. I would love to wear sandels but velcro pops as I walk so no good or if they have a back strap it drops as I walk so also no good. Also bought a lovely pair of white sandels for a wedding and resorted to adding a bit of ribbon to each sandle so the back strap could be tied around the front of my swollen feet. It did not look great, a bit grannified but they were comfortable and secure. I have some of the cheaper variety of crocs and these are lovely and comfy but they are not dress wear or for the office or standing in front of a group of trainees or business people. It is sad but crocs are a fashion faux pas, especially when the image of women who are successful are those who can wear stillettos or high heel courts.
Arr bless you have had no footwear luck have you, all I have worn for 6 year is board Angel flip flops I have 1 black & 1 pink and I get new ones every year but fancy a change x
If you live in the UK, your GP can refer you to the Orthotics dept of your hospital. They show you a brochure with a good variety of designs(and many now by women designers) and you can choose the fabric and colour from what is available. In another reply on this site I said that I have a purple suede pair and a greenish-bronze pair, both with velcro straps, comfortable and good looking. I haven't worn heels for 23 years, but never feel out-of-place in these flats.
Good luck with your search!
I do have some store bought flatties that I wear a lot but after a month or two they change shape terribly as they are not really sturdy shoes at all. But at least they were cheap ie £20-£25 and once they are worn out after 6 months I can throw them out knowing I have had some use out of them. I will have to make a decision about all these specialist shoes though the ones which fit on the day of purchase but not afterwards. Maybe I should take the latest ones back to the shop, but I may be embarrassed as the girl measured my feet and spent ages checking there shelving and storeroom. I hate having Lymphoedemia as it is so restrictive and at the end of a hot day teaching, my feet can feel so painful it would be better to crawl home then get on a bus. I also find the compression socks severely uncomfortable and this is after a good 10 weeks now of only 3 - 4 hours a day as I can'd do any longer for the following, they give me pins and needles, and numbness sometimes, severe cramps in the calf of my legs, an extra indention line across my feet at the base of my toes, and where the rubber band meets my skin at the top of my legs below my knees a horrendous spotty band of itchyness. But my feet do look a better shape in them, however because of all the pains etc they have to come off.
I have had to replace all my shoes! I already had boats for feet size 9 EEE. So when feet started swelling seriously I was puzzled as to where to get shoes. Oh how I tried! But have now found Cosyfeet suit me best of all. I have leopard print, snake print, suede effect, and trainers. Best to get to them at the start of the season lol. This is when you're likely to get your choice and yes.... they are improving their styling. One of the nice things is the removable insole which allows for extra depth when your feet need the extra depth. Also most of the Velcro fasteners have extensions available. Hope this ramble has helped someone. It has been known for me to wish my feet somewhere else rather than on the ends of my legs. But we seem to have come to some sort of agreement now lol😊
Yes the ones I tried had knobby insoles so they were too uncomfortable for my sensitive feet.
Hi I've got a pair of flip flop crocs i've had them for a few years and live in them Ive put them in the washing machine to clean up a few times. I've been looking at trying some gumbies I think you have to buy a larger size in these.
Hi wraggy, never heard of gumbies but will google them.
Hi wraggy, I contacted a gumby supplier and asked about wearing them with compressions and they said you could wear them with compression stockings but would not be ideal as they are meant for bare feet.
Hi wraggy, have you seen Dunlop memory foam flip flops they look comfi, just ordered a pair in my normal size but I bet I need the next size up, hope not.
Hi wraggy, I bought some Dunlop memory foam flip flops in my normal size but can't get my feet in, what style of toe post crocs do you think I should get and what size the ones I'm wearing are my normal size 5, I like the crocban ones x
Yes l have croc flip flops l walked miles in them very comfy
Hi everyone, I have just received my croc flip flops and they are hurting my feet I don't no if it's because they are new and will wear in or it's my feet, can anyone with croc flip flops help me ?
Hiya Bev not sure about crocs flip flops but 'fit flops ' by sketchers make fantastic flip flops and I wear them all summer they are so comfy and attractive too. I have plantar facitis too and they are great for this! I can't wear any other type of flip flop style shoes except these!
