Weight and Lympheodema (body fat)

Hi

Just curious to know if when getting body stats done if my Lympheodema would affect body "fat" stats. Mine seems higher than expected. I'm 40% bigger in my right leg and it's more a fatty tissue now than fluid.

Trying to lose some weight and exercising. I'm a healthy eater.

Thanks

Thanks!

I "try" and be good, odd biscuit & wine....but food wise all made from scratch! Protein, fish, veg, fruit. "Clean" eating!

It's just that she measured my body fat tonight and I wondered if the fact that my leg is more, well, gel like fatty as opposed to fluid would have any bearing?

Thanks x

Hi, on scales that measure body fat.

To be honest I never really concern myself with numbers on scales or BMI which is nonsense! As long as I feel comfortable in my own skin and my clothes fit (with the exception of my big leg and let's face it, with extra fluid you would be heavier) but recently I've felt I needed to get back into shape, wee bit of a belly (could be to do with man size portions my boyfriend now gives me since I moved in 😁)

It's finding what exercises suit you and don't affect my leg. I've been back on high impact but I'm really not sure how I feel about it and its impact on me. So many varying opinions!

X

Thanks! Yes, agree of the 80% diet/20% exercise rule!

I just need to tweak exercise and eat a bit better! Prep more! I walk a lot but like I said I'm blaming the boyfriend pasta portions lol

Thanks for feedback, goodnight and chat soon X

I know you say the odd glass of wine but just check your lef size in the morning I find alcohol increases my leg swelling.

I have been trying and I say trying to follow the sugar free life style change and when I am on it my lymph acts better. I think you need to diary your food to see if there is an influence. Chinese although my favourite foods knocks me on the floor for days.

If you can try and walking in a swimming pool it's something both mum and I did to control our legs. The water supports the joints while the water forces the muscles to work overtime which is of course what we are looking for.

Hopefully an expert will be along to get their option as I am not sure about high impact excerise.

Best of luck

Thanks! Plan to go swimming more. I did a lot of walking last week on holiday and I noticed a huge difference in size (heat and flying too). It's come back down (I can see my ankle shape again).

I'll monitor the alcohol and sugar thing though.

Thanks x
