will I be able to do SLD for lymphoedema in left arm after having a mastopexy ( breast uplift) on other side?

How recent was the procedure? I don't think it should cause a problem, as long as you keep the movements gentle. I do SLD on my affected side by applying a blob of E45 in 3 places - top of the arm, elbow and wrist. I do a few strokes using the blob at the top of my arm, upwards over the shoulder, then, as soon as it gets 'tacky' I move to the elbow blob and again, upward gentle strokes over the shoulder, then, when that's tacky, from the wrist, all the way up and over the shoulder. Usually all over in about 3 minutes. Are you getting any MLD? Could the therapist incorporate treatment on your mastopexy?

hi butiinside

i'm just wondering if you've got any specific worries about this

why do you think sld might be difficult or unhelpful after your op?

that'd help the rest of us be more helpful

good luck with the op

I think it should still be OK as long as you can still comfortably reach your arm.
