Had covid 6th January, recovered after 2 weeks. Tested negative twice but my asthma got triggered because of bronchitis. Taking 30mg prednisolone but not much improvement after 3 days. How long does it take to improve ? Last time I took steroids was 4 years ago ...

Struggling with asthma/breathless
It can take weeks for your lungs to calm down after a big inflammation, especially something like Covid. The pred should start to kick in soon. We just had a bad virus we're thinking was Covid in spite of negative tests (our son's entire daycare has it) and my lungs are still acting weeks after I started feeling better.
Wishing you and family an abundance of good health. I guess i just have to be patient. Had covid for 2 weeks and now asthma, i rather have pain then breathing difficulty...
Definitely talk to your GP. The lungs don't have nerve endings so the pain (as I've been told by pulmonologists) can either be intense inflammation or costochondritis which is pain in the chest muscles from coughing / overexertion or something else going on inside the lungs. Might be good to get an X-ray to be on the safe side.
It's been years and I still have a breathing problem. Too much walking can bring on breathlessness. Windy weather also. It's always just with me. My lungs are not in great shape any more. I spray each morning, but by evening, I just need to stay home and rest.
Your profile says you are 85 years old. If that's true you do fantastic with technology. And certainly don't come across sounding in anyway that you may well be 85. My dad is 75 and struggles with a laptop and mobile phone. My mum younger but in her 70's too struggled with a basic mobile phone in her 50's and 60's but no trouble with the computer. Neither of my parents would be able to figure out health unlocked and how to open it or even message on it no matter how many times I showed them. Told my dad to join up to the Sepsis group on here. He never did. Might show him again. You come across sounding as if you are in your early 20's still. ☺ x
