COVID-19

Has anyone had COVID-19 that wouldn't mind sharing their experience? I am recovering form it now but I felt like it was the worst illness I've ever encountered. Luckily I didn't end up on a ventilator. I had almost every symptom on the list including a rash that looked like chicken pox...that isn't on the list. It really zapped my energy!

What helped me the most during COVID-19 : friends/family prayer, completely relaxed body and mind; positive attitude; getting more than enough "good sleep" I took medication to help me sleep; eating chicken soup and bread; gallons of water; hot baths for severe body aches; deep breathing, getting out of bed everyday (even if i just went to couch) having 3 excellent doctors checking on me daily (telehealth).

This is a very short version on my experience but I thought I would give you a little info.

I had a very similar experience. I had the full gamut of COVID symptoms and was sick for most of April. Crazy sore throat, body aches, migraine-like headache, shaking with chills at night, fever, shortness of breath, my stomach was a mess and the virus attacked my heart so I had severe tachycardia for days. I was so weak. I lost 5 kg in just seven days. Even after my symptoms eased up, I had this crushing fatigue for another few weeks. Like if I ran a single errand, I'd wind up so wiped out I'd spend the rest of the day in bed.

I have continued to have chest and heart discomfort as I've recuperated which I know is normal but it's been hard.

It sounds like you did all the right things to take care of yourself! I completely cut off the news since it was so scary and asked my friends to just tell me cheerful stuff. I too had great medical care--doctors checking in constantly and a few in-person appointments when my heart was acting up. I also felt like I drank gallons of water a day--what a dehydrating illness!--and watched a lot of silly movies and tried to eat as healthy as I could.

I'm sorry you went through it but I'm so hoping our bodies remember how to fight it so we don't get it again! I got an antibody test but it showed that I didn't have many antibodies. However, I've read that that's normal for three months after the illness and that other cells in your body like T cells have a memory for how to fight the virus. It's hard to be patient as the science keeps evolving on immunity!

Glad you are on the mend and keep taking good care of yourself and getting tons of rest!!

Hello Hilary

I’m glad your better. Would you mind if I messaged you privately via private message on this app? Regarding this Covid

Are you asking about only positively tested Covid, or Covid-like symptoms before testing was available?

Poor you. When did you have it? How long were you poorly for? I hope it subsides sooner rather than later for you.
