Moving house/distraction activities

I’ve got a new (unfurnished) flat just before Christmas and the moving a car load to toot triggered me going to hosp for 3 days (2 days too long for me 😉). Went back to my parents (3hr drive) for Christmas where I came down with a bacterial chest infection which was swiftly followed by a virus, silent chest and another trip to hospital 🙄. Slowly getting over it with my PF range going from 40-60% to now ranging 45%-70% - not much improvement but it’s definitely there!

I’ve returned to my new place with another car load (I’m not using movers but probably have a van full of stuff to move), but despite unpacking most of it and still recovering from the virus so far all asthma issues have been reversible! Really hoping this will last and that I’ll keep improving and not tighten up over night! I have a AN appt on Saturday so I don’t want to be bad then cause work starts next Monday!

‘Rewarding’ myself with starting my Lego Hogwarts 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♀️😂 as it keeps me stationary but entertained whilst I have no TV or internet!

Does anyone else get issues a few days after the event? And what does everyone else do to stop themselves from pushing it too far? 😜

How exciting to move to a new flat but so sorry to hear that your asthma exacerbated! As a Harry Potter fan myself...”I've always wanted to use that spell” Minerva McGonagal would say...I wish I had a magic wand to help me put up and then take down all of my holiday decorations- the dust triggers my asthma every year...

Good luck with the move and feel better.

The dust taking down decorations triggers my asthma as well. I always wear a dust mask and have family help to avoid an ER visit or admission every time I would clean, dust, or decorate. 😷😞

You surely ran into an episode that set your symptoms off! Moving WILL do that due to moving items that had been in place for weeks, months & years; we went through this on August of 2017. It would be best for you to use a good nasal spray to coat your nose against the "nasties" in the air. My doctor prescribed Ipratropium Bromide solution 0.03% and has it EVER been a life-saver from airbourne misery for me. Viruses are hard to combat even if you wear a mask due to people that have them and spread them in public places. Take care!

Hi Em😊

How are things going with you?

I’m ok thanks. Virus still causing issues (PF jumping between 50 and 65%) but asthma seems okish. Managed to stay out of hospital on Sat, but AN wasn’t impressed with my FeNO score (95 after 2 weeks of 40 pred and 2 days of 35, previous score of 60-odd during admission) so I’ve got an emergency cons appt tomorrow afternoon. Also trying to work out a plan as about to stop mepo due to side effects but haven’t yet got a treatment plan for afterwards 🙄.

Had to stop Hogwarts due to a missing Lego piece I’m waiting to get delivered 😞😂

Hope you are well x

95 is a high FeNO, so please take care of yourself!

Glad you a fun Hogwarts stop 🙂

I am thanks. The FeNO made them tell me suggest that I should up pred back to 40 but argued my case for a drop to 30 as I get a lot less side effects at 30. They grudgingly accepted cause I’m not feeling asthmary just virus-y, but not allowed to lower again until cons review tomorrow 😅
