The people where I live are starting to get really tired of all the social distancing and having to wear a mask. I can see their frustration in the blatant lack of social distancing. We have “flattened the curve”, with only one death since March and no cases since May. But that could change at any time. We are required to observe social distancing and to wear masks out in public. I have asthma, have an elderly mother that I visit regularly to help her do different things. Yesterday, after work, I went to pick up some groceries, and nobody (except maybe three other people besides myself) had masks on. In the isle I was in, this young couple were shopping, with no masks, and the guy was coughing so bad I thought he would hack up a lung! This is frustrating to me! I have nobody to pick up my groceries for me. Maybe that guy doesn’t have the virus - how do I know? But I don’t want to be exposed to it since I am in the high risk group, and I don’t ever want to bring it home to give anything to my mother. Nobody seems to be thinking of others. I don’t care if you think it is uncomfortable, you wear it to protect others! Sorry, my rant is over. Just scared at how slack everyone is, which could lead to deadly consequences.
I am getting so frustrated... - Living with Asthma
I am getting so frustrated...
Yeah. It is frustrating. And scary.
It really is scary and frustrating. All we can is our best to distance ourselves, wear our masks. I basically avoid most public situations because of my risk factor. If a store allows people in without masks, I don’t shop there. Stay safe
I completely agree! It's the same here in France in the Paris area (the biggest hotspot of the crisis). A few weeks ago, I'd say 60-70% of people were wearing masks and social distancing and now I'd say it's down to 30% or less. Even some of the people who work in shops have stopped wearing them. I am frustrated by the complacency, too, and worried about the people with health problems as well as the elderly in our town--we have tons of retirees and retirement homes.
I had covid in April so technically I don't I think can spread it but I'm still wearing a mask to be respectful and to follow the guidelines. It's frustrating other people can't be bothered especially when the mayor's offices in each town are literally giving masks away for free...
So, anyway, I understand your rant!
It is the same way here! Even the workers in the stores are not wearing them. It is so frustrating. People are just really slacking off and it scares me. I get it. It is summer and it is hot. But still. If I stop going to the places they aren’t wearing masks, I can’t go to any store. Nobody is following the suggestions. I have had so many people lean over me to reach things in shelves (not wearing a mask), to people coughing on me in lines! It is so rude. And I am worried since having badly controlled asthma, if I am more at risk. I am off today, and need to go get some groceries, but I am so nervous.
I have possible asthma and other respiratory symptoms from allergies and anxiety so I too am scared. I have had the luxury of being home where it's very low risk but went once to get a vaccine at a pharmacy and am going to dental offices. I hope I dont need a medical procedure or test that puts me at higher risk until this pandemic is no longer risky.
I cant wait until November 3 when this will all go away!
Explain?
There are a lot if idiots about. I have severe asthma I wear a mask and gloves. If people come near me without masks I stop dead and just stare at them.
I was wondering the same thing about the consequences. I am tired of so much handwashing and stopped wiping down groceries we bring in. I used to wipe down handles etc that are touched by others in the houses. Just too burned out but I have gone in public so far only for medical things and it's on the average about once a month. And I do wear a mask out even though they make me more short of breath and raise anxiety. The masks have come out as being the true way to reduce covid spread and better yet stay away from anyone you dont know well enough to say they probably dont have covid. I dont know why I am afraid to see people in masks but they represent serious illness for me and with my anxiety I don't cope with that well. I heard about the covid parties on the news and it looked crazy and foolish. I don't remember what state they were in.
It makes me want to hurt the person that says that it's against their "Constitutional Rights" to make them wear masks. "NO IT IS NOT!" Nowhere is anything like this in the Constitution. When people act like spoiled brats and don't want to do something imposed by those that know better, they claim "Constitutional Rights" that don't and never existed.
And for the most part they DO NOT have the right to make others sick. AND I think that if they were to and any of those that they make sick dies, they should be brought up on Murder Charges. That's why there is an aversion to tracing . . .
"The United States" that once stood in the forefront of everything, is now a 4th World country.
I agree with you 😊
