I hadn’t needed or used my inhaler for months prior to Thursday’s asthma attack ! It knocked me completely off guard for sure!! I also have asthma. And I have been taken to the ER a couple of times due to asthma attack and had been on prednisone off and on. My asthma was fine for a while but then whenever I would get sick with a cold, sinus injection, pneumonia, bronchitis, cough, etc. In the last week I have had to use my regular inhalers, my rescue inhalers, and nebulizer treatments. So I understand.

I've gotten my Asthma under control with Xolair, to the point I didnt need my inhalor barely ever, only when I was doing cardio (running)... prior to a big Asthma attack in June that I am still dealing with.... after almost 2 months taking heavy doses of prednisone and delaing with all jeavy side effects. I visited a pulmonologist 2 weeks ago that prescribed me with 2 new medicines and this has taken me out of the dark to the point I almost dont get short of breath or have the tight chest pain.... theyre very expensive im lucky my insurance covers 100% but are great, one is Precision and the I cant remember the oher one, these are for the nebulizer at home. If it wasnt for this I would still be misserable. Cannot wait to get back to normal !!!!

Hope you are doing better Lissa! I haven’t yet been to the ER with an attack. That sounds so scary. I am usually very well controlled with Singulair and an occasional ClaritinD, but had a bigger attack than usual this evening. It was a little scary and painful but I responded to my inhaler and threw in a ClaritinD and Nasacort to help. Still recovering from it and just trying to rest. I still have a lot of pain from it, so I can’t imagine how painful a full on severe attack would be. Again, hope you are doing okay.
