"So you or a loved one have been diagnosed with asthma- what do I do next?"

I wish I understand more about asthma. I had no wheezing. Pneumonia, bronchitis and sinus infections-- Yes! Attacks came in with loss of voice--difficulty getting breath out. Foggy brain, fight or flight response as it progressed quickly. Wiped out after. I thought that was the pneumonias.

It would have been absolutely wonderful if I were given a simple handout listing resources- online and in local community.

I have yet to find an educational offering. Even a "So you or a loved one have been diagnosed with asthma- what do I need to know?"... type handout or presentation.

Help to gain control over this unpredictable disease. Regain quality of life. Adapt to treatment and lifestyle changes while maintaining joy in activities-- though differently. Be self-compassionate.

Education, resources to support treatment compliance and self-help tools and knowing others understand make up the foundation of healthy acceptance.
