So I went to my local urgent care..and the doctor diagnosed me with asthma 😐I'm glad I have a name to w hats been going on... but people say that urgent care doctors can't diagnose asthma, that it had to be a lung doctor... but I can't go to a lung doctor,I flare up and need the urgent care before the appointment for the lung doctor... actually, two urgent care doctors said I had asthma,i went there twice... now on to the title problem... My doctor gave me flovent last April and it hasn't worked... I tried to ask the last urgent care doctor if I could get a controller inhaler, but he said he couldn't do that.. but he could give me prednisone...what the hell? What is a good controller medicine to try that's stronger than flovent ? TIA ( thanks in advance)

You definitely need to see a doctor. There are so many controller meds, one would be Symbiocort ..

He or she (doctor) should have issued you a albuterol inhaler to alleviate the asthma breathing flare-ups! Prednisone (corticosteroid) will certainly help during bad episodes, but BREO is a combination inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonists (LABA) used to treat airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema. Prednisone will hdo you much justice, but only a pulmonary specialist can decide the best treatment for your ailments. Do Not go to a family doctor to treat your asthma as it will be a waste of time & money.
